Quality beer dispense from cellar to glass for luxury hotel & spa resort

Stoke by Nayland Resort is a diverse site with numerous bars for golf club members and a whole range of premium facilities for guests, including a hotel, self-catering lodges, and a spa.  It’s not unusual for the team who run the site to be providing hospitality for hundreds of hotel guests on any given day, a function for 200+, 100 diners in the restaurant, their golf club members, and, on top of that, customers of their sports bar.

The Challenge

Previously, line-cleaning and beer dispense quality were taken care of by an in-house team, but it was taking a considerable number of staff hours that needed to be spent on other vital and complex aspects of running such a large resort.

“With the best will in the world, my guys can’t look after the beer systems or glasswashers like the guys from Avani Solutions,” says food and beverage manager Jeff Hunt.  “They haven’t got the expert knowledge, and they might not know what to look out for when it comes to spotting problems. “An example is the gas leak in the sports bar cellar that Avani spotted. As a result, we were able to have it fixed the same day.”

The Solution

Stoke by Nayland is signed up for Avani’s ProClean PLUS service, comprising regular cleaning of beer lines and dispense system with a comprehensive glasswasher deep clean, troubleshooting, beer quality training, and detergent and rinse aid top ups on every visit too.

“It takes the hassle away from a laborious task,” says Jeff.  “I know it’s going to be done to a high standard, including things like a pH test which is something my staff wouldn’t do.”

“Also, the Avani technicians are flexible. They ask me about what’s going on across the resort and in our different bars and then adapt their approach to the beer line and glasswasher cleaning.  “I don’t need to spend time keeping tabs on them either. I showed them around the first time, but since then the guys know the site and where they’re going.”

In between ProClean PLUS visits, Jeff can also keep an eye on things thanks to Avani’s  Innsights Dashboard. The data entered by an Avani technician helps with stock-taking, and tracking beer waste and allows Jeff to compare beer performance from one month to the next.


The Results

“I know that after Avani has been everything is back to that perfect level across the entire site,” says Jeff.  “We can serve and know that customers are going to get a great pint right away.  “I’m confident now that guests are getting the best pints they can and while using ProClean PLUS we haven’t had a pint sent back. The glasses are in great condition, too.

“In terms of overall dispense hygiene, I know that every month those glasswashers are back to a reset and that makes it much, much easier for my team to maintain them.  “ProClean PLUS is pro-active and preventative, and it makes caring for our beer lines and glasswashers effortless.”
